Welcome to Our Kindergarten Class!

Hello friends! Thank you for visiting "Paint, Peanut Butter, and Play Doh" - Ms. Johnson's Kindergarten Classroom blog! "Paint, Peanut Butter, and Playdoh" comes from a funny conversation I had with a stranger in my first year of teaching Kindergarten. As I waited for an appointment in a waiting room, an older man looked up from his newspaper and said to me, "You must be a Kindergarten teacher." Not understanding how he could know this, I said, "How do you know?" He replied, "Well, you've got either marker or paint all over you!" I looked down at my clothes and hands, and I realized that I not only had brightly colored paint on my shirt and pants but also dried peanut butter splotches and flecks of dried Play Doh! I began to laugh and said, "I definitely am I Kindergarten teacher! I guess paint, peanut butter, and Play Doh will give me away every time!" Since that conversation, I've taken pride in the paint, peanut butter, and Play Doh that I'm often covered in. To me, they are the badges of a Kindergarten teacher "in the trenches", unafraid to play with her children and make learning fun!

I hope you will find useful information, updates on your child's classroom and curriculum, and fun ideas for learning. I plan on updating our blog at least once weekly, but I hope to be able to add posts daily. Check back often for new information, pictures, links, and fun tidbits!
